Recently I preached a message entitled, “Stop whining and get up and do something about it.”
When we are in right relationship with God there are things that we can expect from God and there are a few things that we can do to help remedy our conditions and situations.
We can call on the Lord, put our trust and faith in him. We can let those who have been assigned to care for us do their jobs. And lastly, we can live for the glory of God the best we can and then die.
Jesus came so that we can experience life the way he intended it to be. He called it abundant life. Keep in mind that Jesus was not just concerned about stuff and things that we can possess in this life only. He also has made provision for us to live in the life hereafter. That’s good news for those who may not ever see much change in their health, wealth or living conditions in their lifetimes even though they loved God with everything in them..
So let’s keep in mind that when we die, it’s not the end of life. If the things that keep you in prayer and up at night never change. If that sickness or infirmity is never healed. If that pain never goes away. Finally, if you never stop crying in this life, Jesus wants you to know that he’s got you. I read the end of the book. Listen:
Revelation 21:1-5 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
DON’T FORGET ABOUT HEAVEN. THE THINGS IN THIS LIFE ARE TEMPORARY. THE THINGS IN HEAVEN AND HEAVEN IS FOREVER.
