I never said that I was the brightest, the smartest, the best or even good at what I do. What I’ve always tried to do is be obedient to God. Speak truth to power. I’ve tried not to pacify big givers like Ananias and Sapphira, love my wife and kids and worship God as best I know how.
Every pastor and ministry leader out here knows how difficult this can be. Often I’ve publicly apologized to those that follow me for possibly mishandling their dilemmas or offending them in some fleshly manner.
Often I’ve just wanted to get away and refuel, retool, reboot and
rethink my theology so that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart may be pleasing and acceptable in His sight.
rethink my theology so that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart may be pleasing and acceptable in His sight.
I said all of this to say that, “It ain’t easy when you really want to serve the Most High God.” It just ain’t easy.
There will be some who will try and explain this commentary. They will try and comfort the “poor” preacher, etc. No need it’s just a reality. It ain’t easy.
2 Corinthians 4:7-9
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
It ain’t easy but it’s gonna be alright. You better believe it. God’s got us!!!!
