How to handle disappointment

How to handle disappointment.

Disappointment is to be discouraged or sad because of an unmet expectation regarding someone or something.

Disappointment is one of the toughest things for believers to handle. Some people have been waiting so long for things to change for their good. Others have endured so much and have been so faithful waiting on their expected breakthrough.

Somebody needs to let folk know that it’s going to be alright. We got to learn how to be satisfied with whatever God has in store for us. We can’t let “our” unmet expectations cause us to crash and burn. Have you ever thought that if you got what you want that it may just mess you up?

God promises to supply all of our “need” not all of our wants. I’ve learned that if it happens fine and if not that’s fine too. The scriptures help us to know that we can be content in whatever state we find ourselves in.

We have to learn how to abase and to abound. We have to know how to be full and how to have a need and it not affect our relationship with God and man. I’ve learned that God is in control and I’m His.

So, you don’t have to lose it. You don’t have to go off on the dog. You don’t have to go and get lit. You don’t have to fall away from the faith.

Here the word of the Lord:
Psalm 34:1-3 “I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace. I will boast of all his kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart. Let us praise the Lord together and exalt his name. For I cried to him and he answered me! He freed me from all my fears.

Praise Him no matter what. Worship instead of worry. Stay focused and faithful.

Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”

Be encouraged. God’s plan will always be more beautiful and greater than all of your disappointments.
