I’m amazed at how people who used to fear God and worship God now talk about God and the people of God freely without a fear of some kind of repercussion. I know people who used to love God and longed to know Him better who now think and tell folk that God is not real. They tell people that the people who serve God through a local church are all fools and deceived.
Most of the time, someone hurt them, crossed them, divorced them, disappointed them and they claim to be “church hurt”. There is no such thing as “church hurt”, there is only people hurt. When someone hurts you, disappoints you or lets you down don’t blame God. Go to God and ask Him to help that person and you to get past whatever it is that has caused the riff or problem that you have with each other.
It is my prayer that those who have grown cold in their faith, who have denied the faith, who are now backslidden and who are looking at the people of God and not the God of the people, will repent. It is my prayer that before they die that they will call on the name of the Lord and get it right with God before they have to face God one day.
I’m still one of these people who believe that God is real and He really does save and He really does change peoples lives. I believe that there is grace available to help us through all of our failings, struggles and conquests as we seek to live in this life as followers of Jesus.
Struggle if you must with your own beliefs. Struggle if you must with how you feel about certain people and those that have hurt you, but be careful in how you talk about God and His people. I personally believe that there are repercussions.
Eccl 5:2
2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
