Deut 6:12
12 be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
So many people have a tendency to forget God once the wilderness journey is over and things are kinda going well. Many people seem to allow time and prosperity to make them lose their fire and desire for God, even after His miraculous care for them over the years.
The scripture commands us to not forget the Lord. When we do we will have no motivation to serve, to praise, to worship or even celebrate the years that he lead us during our wilderness journey.
We should never get blessed and then forget the one who blessed us. Many of us, when it comes to our service, praise and worship and celebration of God, “It looks like we forgot”. Did I say, “Don’t forget God?” Also, don’t put anything or anybody before Him. Seek first the Kingdom of God. Don’t try God’s jealousy.
Deut 6:14-16
14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; 15 for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
Well, we can thank God for grace. He may not destroy us, but He can sure ignore us.
Don’t forget God!!! He won’t forget you!!!
