When people see God at work in your life and don’t understand what God is doing with you, they will say some of the darnedest things about you. When people think that they know something about what you’ve done or know something about what has happened to you in the past, they tend to make judgments that are often premature and they use words to try and cause you to abort your purpose/destiny. People love to judge the lives and activities of others. It’s as if they have no life of their own!
The bible says,
1 Cor 4:5 NLT
5 So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time…
So, what kind of Christian is it that judges others and says stuff on the regular that they shouldn’t say?
James 1:26
26 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
The bible says that they are “fooling themselves” and are not really Christians at all. Or, maybe they are just “carnal”.
Here are some words that come from the mouths of these carnal Christians who’s tongues are out of control.
Things they say when God’s using you:
1. Look at them, who do they think they are?
2. They need to stop trying to be something that they are not.
3. I know they don’t think that’s gonna work.
4. I don’t think that’s God at all, they need to quit and find
something else to do.
5. Now, that they doing right there, don’t even make “no” sense.
Which one of these have you heard, right at the time when you really didn’t need to hear it, especially from someone who was “supposed” to be a Christian?
Here is what Paul had to say when folk didn’t understand his ministry and thought he was doing his own thing:
1 Cor 15:10 NKJV
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain;
I guess I can speak for myself and many others who have had their ministries and callings, questioned, withstood and misunderstood.
Well, I’ll let the bible speak.
Acts 5:38-39
38 “So I am telling you: Hands off these men! Let them alone. If this program or this work is merely human, it will fall apart, 39 but if it is of God, there is nothing you can do about it — and you better not be found fighting against God!”
The worse thing that you can do is to think you’re fighting a person, a ministry or a movement and find out that you’re fighting against God.
Somebody take consolation in knowing that if God be for you, who can be against you. This is so true and so needed at this hour. God’s getting ready to do some stuff that’s going to blow the carnal, marginal saints mind. Don’t let the rhetoric stop you.
Final word to those who like to talk about what everybody is doing and ain’t doing nothing themselves:
James 1:22 NIV
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Forgive, repent, forget, have faith, keep hope alive and love God and man.
